I think that he hadn't quite anticipated how difficult it was going to be. Like many presidents who follow from their predecessor, it's a difficult transition. I think that there are shades of gray. There's a lot on his agenda.
-Charlie Hunnam: JaxSeason 6 is him knowing that there's no more leveraging. There's no more maneuvering. There're no more choices. There's just this bounty on his head and he's no longer in control of how many minutes he's got left ... I didn't know what that meant until I saw the tweet the other day when Kurt was asked to describe in one word what Season 6 was for each character and Clay's word was "revenge."
-Ron Perlman: ClayThe relationship bounces around a lot ... the Gemma and Tara of it all is that there's this power struggle going on and certain things will intensify in Season 6, but I can't say specifically where that's going. But they're both very strong women. I believe that Tara has had to "man up" in terms of her circumstance. Gemma's motivation is always to get next to her son. So, in the beginning of Season 6, she did what he asked. She set up those moves with Clay and I think she has no regret about it, so she thinks she's in his good graces and that always makes her happy.
-KatEy Sagal: GemmaI think she's realized that in order to survive in this world, there are certain rules or modes that she needs to live by just in order to survive and they happen to resemble Gemma's, deeply ... I think what's interesting about the character now is that her methods and her modes pretty deeply resemble Gemma's, but what she desires is totally different. So there's this kind of twining mirroring, but with completely divergent desires ... and so I think thats how Tara has managed to remain the Tara she was at the beginning ... Right now she's just really focused on her children and trying to break something that she's come to be very aware of, which is the cycle of violence and horrific catastrophe that is constantly surrounding this life and this family.
-Maggie Siff: TaraWhat's so fantastic about that moment, being so instrumental in Clay going to jail and ending that reign, is that he's being used as a pawn by Jax. But at the end of the day, if you really go through the history of it, there was an allegiance to Jax from the beginning. It's the reason why he's in the club, but then to find that father figure in Clay, he's just looking to be led and he wants someone to point him in the right direction because there are leaders and soldiers in this world and he's definitely a solider. And how this all affects Juice is what we come to see in Season 6.
-Theo Rossi: JuiceIt's total mayhem right now. Last season I would say that Tig was off the leash, and this year he's back on the leash. And it's the Jax leash. So it's going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. There are a lot of things that have happened ... secrets not shared, allegiances still being built and shattered, pretty heavy stuff.
-Kim Coates: TigWe begin Season 6 a few days after Season 5, and I think obviously there's a lot of big events that happened at the end of Season 5 and they will carry us through the season. Can he [Jax] be the leader of this outlaw organization and still be a loving father and devoted husband? In essence, can he have everything he wants and remain true to who he is? What father is Jax destined to become? Is he destined to become Clay or is he destined to become JT? And is there something in between?
I think we've really created characters and narratives that have been very organic to this world and I feel like we're running towards the finish. At a certain point, it's going to hit the fan and for the show to stay believable and real, ultimately, it has to find its endgame.
Big pool of blood. I have a sense of what I want the last scene of the show to be. How we're going to get there and what that looks like, I'm not really sure.
