Hiro is a teenage robotics genius who lives in the city of San Fransokyo. Besides his older brother, inventor Tadashi Hamada, Hiro's best buddy is Baymax, an oversized inflatable robot. When a mysterious turn of events devastates his city, Hiro is thrust into a dangerous plot. Determined to do something about it, he puts his genius to work and transforms Baymax and his friends Go Go Tomago, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred into a band of high-tech heroes known as "Big Hero 6."

Baymax was designed to care. The inflatable robot is a Healthcare Companion designed by Tadashi Hamada to revolutionize the healthcare industry in San Fransokyo. But to the inventor's little brother Hiro, Baymax is a loyal friend. And after a little reprogramming and equipment modifications, he becomes part of Big Hero 6 — with rocket fists, superstrength, and top-notch flying skills.

Sure, he's a genius, but 14-year-old Hiro Hamada is also a bit of a troublemaker — his cutting-edge battlebots rule the underground bot fights in San Fransokyo. Good thing he has big brother Tadashi as a mentor. He challenges Hiro to put his brilliance to the test to get into the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. When a tragic event changes everything, he turns to Baymax and his friends at school to help him with an important mission. Hiro's armor connects to the back of Baymax's armor using magnetic extensions, allowing him to safely ride the flying robot.

As her name correctly implies, Go Go knows the meaning of fast. She may not be much for conversation — snapping her bubble gum and spitting out sarcasm are more her speed — but she's as loyal as they come. Even before her superhero upgrades, she's strong, tough, and totally able to hold her own. A no-nonsense athlete and daredevil adrenaline junkie, Go Go is perfectly at home on wheels. And when she joins forces with Big Hero 6, she rolls faster than ever, using maglev discs as wheels, shields, and throwing weapons.

You could say Wasabi is sharp. But that wouldn't really cut it. In fact, he's supersmart and has an obsession with precision (he might be just a bit neurotic). The big, burly clean freak can't help but join the cause when he is called upon. After Hiro gets ahold of him, his expert martial arts skills are amped up with insanely cool plasma blade weaponry.

Fanboy Fred isn't actually a student at San Fransokyo Tech. By day he's the school mascot. And by night, well, he's the school mascot. He might seem like the definition of a slacker dude, but this comic-book enthusiast shows promise. Fred doesn't hesitate to join the team, and he's bursting with concepts for his superskills. His fire-breathing alter ego is outfitted with claws, integrated communications, and a super bounce. His mascot sign-spinning skills might come in handy, too.
