Bilbo’s unexpected journey
begins when Gandalf the
wizard visits. The next day,
13 dwarves arrive, recruiting
Bilbo for their quest to reclaim
their lost kingdom from the evil dragon, Smaug.

Bilbo and the dwarves
begin their long trek,
which leads them into
a troll-infested forest.

The company rests
and enjoys the
hospitality and the
help of the elves
Galadriel and Lord Elrond.

The company avoids a
battle between stone
giants by hiding in a
cave…that is occupied
by goblins.

Separated from his
party, Bilbo chances
upon a ring of great
power as well as its
former owner, Gollum.

With Gandalf’s help,
the party arrives at
the Carrock where
they glimpse the
Lonely Mountain in
the distance.
